The Quality Assurance Manager for Faculty Qualifications serves as Texas State Technical College’s statewide lead for ensuring the quality, integrity, and consistency of the faculty qualifications process. This role builds, refines, and manages an efficient, high-quality framework that ensures faculty are appropriately qualified, documented, and ready for assignment each academic term. The position interprets and applies accreditation requirements, college policy, and course- and program-level qualification standards, while strengthening quality assurance, streamlining workflows, and improving speed and accuracy in verifying and assigning qualified faculty.

Success requires close, proactive partnership with Human Resources, Campus Provosts, Program Team Leads, Deans, Directors of Alignment, Curriculum, Accelerated Training, and other key areas. The Manager ensures new faculty move efficiently through the qualification process and that existing faculty qualification records remain current as curricula evolve. The role also monitors course assignment readiness each term and collaborates with the Curriculum Office to update faculty course eligibility when programs or courses are revised.

It identifies qualification gaps and opportunities for faculty skill development in response to industry-driven curriculum changes. The role supports Planning & Assessment initiatives, including assessment cycles, program review, goal planning, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts.

Essential Functions
  • Demonstrate TSTC’s Core Values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, students, and community members.
  • Lead end-to-end management of the faculty qualifications lifecycle from initial documentation through final approval, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with institutional and accreditation standards. Develop and implement process improvements to enhance consistency, transparency, and efficiency across campuses and divisions.
  • Ensure the integrity of faculty qualification data collection, entry, and documentation. Review and verify materials, including justification documentation for alternative credentialing requests, ensuring adherence to approved standards.
  • Ensure institutional compliance with SACSCOC, THECB, and internal policy requirements through ongoing policy review, data monitoring, validation, and reporting. Conduct audits and validation checks of faculty qualifications data repositories (including SPOL and Workday) to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain and enhance the Faculty Qualifications module in SPOL and related systems, ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, and appropriate controls. Monitor timeliness, accuracy, and completion, and provide regular reports and recommendations to partners.
  • Create and deliver training for campus leaders and HR partners using standardized tools and job aids to promote consistent credentialing practices. Recommend and implement system enhancements that improve automation, tracking, and reporting capabilities.
  • Build and sustain partnerships with Human Resources, Directors of Alignment, Deans, Curriculum, and Campus Leadership to ensure shared accountability and clear communication. Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement by clarifying expectations, timelines, and shared ownership of credentialing outcomes.
  • Collaborate on strategic initiatives connecting faculty credentialing with broader institutional priorities related to student learning, workforce alignment, and operational excellence.
