Position Overview:
This full-time role combines on-site care with telemedicine services, offering a consistent 40-hour work week while allowing you to meaningfully support an underserved adult population within a structured clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnose mental health disorders, and develop individualized treatment plans.
Provide psychopharmacology management, including medication initiation, monitoring, and adjustment.
Lead crisis intervention and suicide-prevention protocols in collaboration with nursing and custody teams.
Coordinate continuity of care with on-site counselors, medical providers, and community agencies to support effective discharge planning.
Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in accordance with NCCHC and state regulatory standards.
Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, case reviews, and quality-improvement initiatives.
Provide clinical oversight to mid-level practitioners and assist with staff training as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Active, unrestricted Texas medical license (or ability to obtain) and DEA registration.
Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry.
Current BLS/ACLS certification; experience in correctional or forensic psychiatry is highly preferred.
