D2 Government Solutions is seeking qualified candidates for Gatehouse Attendant roles supporting gatehouse operations at Waco Lake recreation areas in Waco, Texas. This position supports visitor access, reservations, and use-fee processing at USACE-managed parks and requires a professional, customer-focused approach.
Part Time (scheduled Thu-Sun, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM; holidays may be required when they fall on scheduled shift days)
Responsibilities- Provide front-line visitor support at the gatehouse, including answering questions and providing park information, rules, and maps in a courteous and professional manner.
- Process cashless recreation transactions and reservations using government-designated tools/systems (e.g., Recreation One Stop (R1S) and/or pay station workflows) and maintain accurate supporting documentation for all items sold.
- Maintain daily campground/campsite status (arrivals, departures, no-shows, cancellations) and keep records current throughout the shift.
- Safeguard controlled items and transaction documentation (e.g., passes/books/receipts) and follow required fee-security procedures, including proper use of the gatehouse safe and readiness for audits.
- Prepare and maintain required logs and reports, including complaint logs, work order notifications to lake staff, and weekly deposit/summary packets with supporting shift documents.
- Maintain a clean, orderly gatehouse and surrounding area; follow all posted/provided safety and no-smoking requirements.
- Wear contractor-provided uniform/ required and comply with installation access control procedures and security training requirements.
- Customer service experience in a public-facing role (e.g., visitor services, front desk, call center, retail, hospitality) with the ability to enforce rules professionally and de-escalate routine issues.
- Ability to accurately handle cashless transactions and maintain detailed records (receipts, logs, status boards, reports) with high attention to detail and integrity.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and email communications; ability to learn reservation/fee systems and follow step-by-step procedures.
- Ability to work scheduled shifts Thursday-Sunday 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and work federal holidays when they fall on scheduled shift days.
- Must be able to meet federal installation access requirements, to include background screening/vetting as required for unescorted access and completion of required security awareness trainings within required timelines.
- Professional appearance and adherence to dress/uniform standards while interacting with the public.
