Overview
The conductor is a member of a train crew, responsible for the safe movement of trains and railway cars. The conductor will have to perform work safely such as manually making up or splitting up the railcars on the train, manually securing the train by applying handbrakes, controlling the movement to load railway cars with product, obtaining authorizations, etc.

Schedule: 14 on / 14 off or 13/15 – 12 hours per day

ResponsibilitiesThe Conductor performs the following tasks:
- Understand and comply with all rules, regulations, safety procedures and standards from the company and several government agencies, including Transport Canada.
- Safely manage, control, and communicate the movements of the train and railcars using radio and by written authorization.
- In all weather conditions, manually operate track switches, apply, and release handbrakes, connect hoses, and perform safety inspections.
- Read, interpret, and execute work lists.
- Prepare required daily reports, both manually and/or electronically.
- Successfully perform job briefings before and during duty and interacts effectively with the railway authorities.
- Other related tasks.
- Must possess a high school diploma.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Is or has recently been a qualified railway conductor.
- Must be prepared to work in adverse weather conditions.
- During the 13 or 14-day work cycle, must be prepared to work on call on a 24hour basis.
If selected for the role, candidates will be required to undergo a comprehensive background check, including physical examination, drug screening, criminal record verification, and reference checks.
