Field Service Technician, Mining; rotation Schefferville

Toromont Cat is looking for a Field Service Technician, Mining to go directly to customer mine sites in a Toromont service truck and provide superior service and product expertise to maintain high standards that ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner with the utmost integrity.

This position will be to support an English mining customer in Schefferville.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Compensation: $41 to $47 / hr

• Participate in safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviors at all times, in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
• Diagnose mechanical problems using Caterpillar testing equipment
• Repair and/or assemble allied or competitive Caterpillar earthmoving equipment as required within established timelines and quality standards
• Prepare service reports and service documentation in an accurate and timely manner
• Participate as an integrated member of onsite mechanical staff
• Comply with company and customer health and safety policies and procedures
  
  Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times, in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Culture
• Maintain excellent communication and trusted customer relationships through regular on site visits

• Post Secondary education in a field related to heavy equipment mechanics, truck and coach mechanics, diesel engine mechanics or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of working experience as a technician in the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment (experience with mining equipment, a strong asset)
• Red Seal trade license in heavy equipment or heavy engine
• A valid Driver’s Licence
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
