• Operates diagnostic sonography equipment and performs diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with department policy and procedures.
• Works within the Practice Standards and Code of Ethics of the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
• Collaborates with physicians to perform a variety of specialized procedures.
• Sets up and adjusts equipment to perform diagnostic procedures and positions patients to obtain images of the area of interest while respecting patient comfort.
• Obtains appropriate patient information for the procedure and utilizes PPE and other guidelines as needed.
• Recognizes emergent situations and activates assistance as needed.
• Assists other areas and shifts as needed.

• Education: Satisfactory completion of formal technology training.
• License/Certification: Registered or registry-eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or American Registry of Radiologic Technology in ultrasound (ARRT ultrasound) and obtain valid certification within 12 months of graduation from an approved ultrasound training program or completion of approved cross-training. (Encourage advanced certifications.) CPR Certification.
• Experience: Previous experience in ultrasound preferred, but not required, or previous experience in a similar role.

  Qualifications:
  
  Must be able to lift 50 lbs., 100 lbs. shared lifting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of general computer skills and applications. Ability to take call. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work independently using critical thinking skills.
