Open Position:
Full Time Clinician, DBT of South Jersey

DBT of South Jersey is a counseling and wellness center that provides group, individual counseling services and holistic workshops to support healing. We support children, teens and adults and help them build the life they want through counseling practices that work. We specialize in helping clients gain control over intense emotions, empower them to work through past traumas and develop skills to change their lives.

Join the DBT of South Jersey team and be a part of a supportive and collaborative environment that is rooting for the success of both you and those you serve.

Why Join DBT of South Jersey:

Commitment to Excellence:
Be part of the only practice with Linehan Board Certified DBT therapists in South Jersey providing comprehensive care while doing life changing work.

Innovative Approach:
Embrace a skills-based methodology and holistic approach, including trauma-informed yoga, meditation workshops, and more, reflecting our commitment to whole person healing.

Supportive Environment:
Work with a team who is dedicated to your success and wellbeing as a therapist.

The perfect match for this position is aligned with our core values in their beliefs and actions:

Never Stop Learning-We are looking for someone that LOVES to learn. Learning DBT is like learning a new language, and takes time to master. Someone that feels tired or overwhelmed at the thought of learning more would not be a good match.

Safe Spaces-Our team works hard to create safe spaces for all humans in order to create the best conditions for healing. Someone that has biases preventing them from doing anti-racism and LGBTQ+ affirming work, for example, would not do well in our practice.

Human To Human Connection-We are a feedback driven culture and seek someone who embraces growth, contributes as a supportive team member, and takes accountability. Those who view feedback only as criticism and struggle with accountability won't align well with our team.

We operate as a team and are looking for individuals who are seeking out an environment that is supportive and encouraging.

Overall, we want you to show up as yourself and no one else. We want to celebrate you as you are. If you are an authentic and genuine human, you will fit in well with our team, which is one of the most important requirements. Otherwise, we also need someone who:

Is licensed in New Jersey (LAC/LPC, LSW/LCSW).

Isn’t afraid to help clients suffering from emotion dysregulation and risk behaviors.

Provides counseling services, treatment planning, associated paperwork and case management to an average of 23 clients per week in individual and group sessions.

Is willing to work evenings minimally during the first year of employment (see hours below) while building a caseload (working evenings is not required outside of being able to build your caseload).

Is excited to offer the real deal DBT, meaning all four modes of comprehensive treatment, including phone coaching and skills group.

Strong consideration to those who work with children, adolescents, couples or families, as well as those who have specialized training outside of DBT (Eating Disorders, Substance Use, Somatic Practices, etc.). Also, you do NOT need any previous training in DBT to work with us.

Hours:

Our goal is to help you move into your dream schedule, and that takes time. We will help coach you on building your caseload to one that is ideal work with the ideal clients at the ideal time for you. It does take time, especially if you are starting from scratch.

Here is what we have found is the most effective schedule to get started:
