Overview
4-10 hours Shifts at Virtua Surgical Center
NO CALL NO WEEKENDS
SummaryUnder the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or Physician, the Surgical Technologist handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.
Responsibilities- Scrubs for, prepares, sets-up and assists during any surgical procedure and provides support to nursing and ancillary departments by transporting and transferring patients to and between units when necessary.
- Prepares instruments and supplies for future procedures.
- Collects and handles specimens according to policy and procedures.
One year OR Training or Experience.
EducationGraduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Training Program.
Training / Certifications / Licensure- BLS.
- Surgical Technologist Certification required for external hires per NJ State Law.
- Maintenance of New Jersey State required 15 CEs per year.
