We are seeking a driver willing to work for runs inside California with potential for some overnight runs.

Job Description

  • Performs all required safety checks (i.e., pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). all safety issues and/or repairs required, follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
  • Immediately reports all safety hazards and inspects the trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
  • Performs count check of items and checks customer invoices of products that have been loaded.
  • Checks and completes required paperwork associated with freight in an accurate and legible manner.
  • Moves tractor to the loading dock and attaches the preloaded trailer as needed.
  • Drives to and delivers customer orders according to a predetermined route delivery schedule.
  • Unloads products from the trailer, transports items into designated customer storage areas.
  • Performs damage control checks on items, scans, and contacts supervisor about removing orders according to company policy.
  • Verifies delivery of items with customers and obtains proper signatures. Collects money (cash or checks) where required. Loads customer returns onto the trailer and secures trailer doors.
  • Ensures that tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or always secured.
  • Unloads damaged goods and customer returns, brings them to the driver check‑in, and completes necessary paperwork.
  • Unloads all equipment, materials and removes trash from trailers as required.
  • Completes daily record of hours of service and enters it in the log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Performs general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keeps trailers clear and clean as required. At the end of the shift, secures all equipment and completes all necessary paperwork.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
  • Valid CDL‑A; must be 25+ years of age.
  • Minimum of 24 months experience working in a full‑time Class A tractor/trailer driving position in the previous 4 years.
  • No more than two moving violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
  • No serious traffic violations while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
  • No preventable accidents in the last three years.
  • No preventable DOT recordable accidents in the last ten years.
  • No preventable accident resulting in a fatality or catastrophic injury in driving history.
  • Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report for past 3 years.
  • Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Pass road test.
  • Attains or has a valid current DOT Health Card and/or is able to secure a new DOT Health Card.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment, such as forklifts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately.
  • Physical stamina to handle long hours on the road and heavy lifting as needed.
