We are seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Biller to support our outpatient mental health programs, a must Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization (PHP) services. This position will start part-time with the potential to transition to full-time based on performance, volume, and organizational need.

Candidates must be comfortable working independently in a remote environment and communicating effectively with a distributed clinical and administrative team.

• Perform end-to-end billing for outpatient, IOP, and PHP behavioral health services
• Accurately enter charges and submit claims using appropriate CPT/HCPCS and ICD-10 codes
• Verify eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements prior to or during the billing cycle
• Review documentation to ensure medical necessity and level-of-care compliance
• Submit claims electronically and follow up on unpaid, denied, or underpaid claims
• Post payments, ERAs, EOBs, and adjustments accurately
• Identify and resolve billing errors, denials, and payer discrepancies
• Communicate with insurance companies, clearinghouses, and internal clinical/administrative staff
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and adhere to payer-specific billing guidelines
• Manage assigned accounts receivable to reduce aging balances

• Commercial insurance plans
• Medicaid/Medi-Cal and managed care plans
• Behavioral health carve-outs (as applicable)

• Medisoft experience a plus
• Experience with clearinghouses and payer portals required
• Strong proficiency with billing software, EHRs, and Excel/Google Sheets

• Minimum 1-2 years of behavioral health or mental health billing experience
• Hands-on experience billing IOP and/or PHP programs required
• Strong knowledge of behavioral health CPT codes, modifiers, and ICD-10 diagnosis coding
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned accounts efficiently

• Part-time to start 25 hours per week
