ResponsibilitiesJob Summary
- Provide group education and skill-building activities to program participants and community members.
- Implement identified evidence-based curriculum(s) and education models with fidelity
- Schedule, plan, promote and implement workshops and other required activities
- Lead outreach/in-reach activities within VCC and the community to recruit program participants
- Sustain and/or build community partnerships to advance program activities
- Work collaboratively with program staff to assist enrolled program participants
- Maintain ongoing contact with program participants to build trusting relationships
- Demonstrate familiarity with VCC programs and services
- Develop and maintain a calendar of educational sessions
- Follow program protocols and complete program documents and reports
- Participate in internal and other program meetings as scheduled
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature review, in-service meetings and workshops
- Support the vision, mission and goals, and demonstrate a commitment to the values, of the organization
- Perform other duties as directed
- Bilingual in Spanish/English
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of four years of experience in community education
- Valid California driver’s license, current vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation to travel between sites for meetings and/or to gather information for reporting purposes
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or associates degree with minimum two years of experience in community education
- Ability to present information accurately and effectively both orally and in writing to individuals and groups
- Good verbal and written skills necessary for communication with patients/clients, providers and other staff
- Ability to handle confidential materials and information in a professional manner
- Basic computer knowledge, Internet use, MS Office and Excel, data entry
- Work independently, take initiative, and be proactive
- Ability to analyze, prioritize and meet deadlines
- Ability to track and manage time effectively
- Ability to plan and facilitate internal and community meetings
- Excellent customer service skills and commitment to providing the highest level of customer satisfaction
Pay Rate
- $22.50 - $24.00
