ResponsibilitiesJob Summary
Assist the Patient Benefit Counselors with administrative support.
Essential Job Functions
- Schedule appointments for patients
- Reschedule patients who miss appointments
- Check in patients with appointments and screen walk ins
- Instruct patients on the documents necessary for the eligibility process, and provide an overview of available healthcare insurance options
- Assign patients a primary care provider (PCP)
- Assist patients to choose a Health Plan with Health Care Options
- Conduct follow-up process on applications and renewals submitted by the department
- Attend trainings and other meetings as required
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature review, in-service meetings and workshops
- Support the vision, mission and goals, and demonstrate a commitment to the values, of the organization
- Perform other duties as directed
Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum two years’ experience in the customer service or social service field, or in community volunteer work
- Bilingual English/Spanish
Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Effective verbal and written skills necessary for communication, in both English and Spanish, with patients/clients, providers and other staff
- Ability to interface with all levels of personnel in a professional manner, including people of all social, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and within the constraints of government funded programs
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service skills and commitment to providing the highest level of customer satisfaction
- Ability and willingness to meet the organization’s attendance and dress code policies
- Ability to handle confidential materials and information in a professional manner
- Experience/familiarity with computers, business e-mail, communication systems and internet search capabilities and proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel
Pay Rate:
- $21 - $22 per hour, Depending On Experience
