Tax Preparer

Description

We are looking for a skilled Tax Preparer to join our team in Vista, California. This is a long-term contract opportunity, ideal for someone with experience in handling individual tax returns and assisting clients with various tax-related needs. The role involves working directly with clients to ensure accurate tax preparation and compliance.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare individual tax returns, including 1040s, W-2s, and investment-related filings.

- Manage a portfolio of 400 clients, ensuring timely and accurate service.

- Conduct client appointments daily to gather necessary information and provide tax advice.

- Utilize Tax Act software to complete tax filings efficiently.

- Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations, including California-specific credits and deductions.

- Collaborate with a team to meet client demands during tax season.

- Review and analyze financial documents to accurately calculate taxable income.

- Provide guidance to clients on potential deductions and credits applicable to their financial situation.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and changes that may impact client filings.

Requirements - Proven experience in preparing individual tax returns, including 1040s and related forms.

- Proficiency in using tax preparation software, such as Tax Act or similar tools.

- Strong understanding of federal and California state tax regulations.

- Ability to manage a high volume of clients with attention to detail and accuracy.

- Excellent communication skills for conducting client consultations and explaining tax matters.

- Enrolled Agent (EA) certification or equivalent licensing preferred.

- Familiarity with investment-related tax filings and deductions.

- Capacity to work collaboratively in a team-oriented office environment.
