Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are hiring a full-time, on-site Controller to fully own the accounting operations for a premier motorsports racing team and off-road vehicle distribution business.

This is a hands-on, team-of-one role requiring complete ownership of the books, cash flow, AP/AR, and financial reporting. This position is not suitable for someone with limited experience. Candidates must be confident in their abilities, exceptionally strong with accounting processes and numbers, and capable of operating independently at a high professional level.

Accuracy and timeliness are not preferences. They are expectations. Errors are disruptive in this environment and are not acceptable.

This role requires calm execution, certainty in the numbers, reliability, and consistent availability. The ideal candidate is dependable under pressure, precise in their work, and steady in fast-moving situations.

We are not interested in candidates with other accounting clients, side engagements, or part-time availability. The role reports directly to ownership and works closely alongside our operations leader. The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, without relying on others for direction or follow-through, is essential.

This role is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional who thrives in high-accountability environments and takes personal pride in delivering flawless financial execution. Candidates with experience in automotive dealership or powersports dealership accounting, motorsports, or equipment distribution will be strongly prioritized.

Travel to Baja, Mexico, may be required a couple of times per year.

This role supports a top-tier, factory racing team alongside a growing off‑road vehicle distribution business. The financial operations involve high‑dollar transactions, tight timelines, inventory management, and real‑time decision‑making. Accuracy, urgency, and ownership are critical.

This is a true controller role, not an entry or learning position. The scope of responsibilities is well defined and stable. The nature of the role itself is not expected to expand over time.

However, there is meaningful upside opportunity. As the distribution side of the business continues to grow, this role will play a key part in that expansion and may benefit financially as the distribution business scales.

You will be responsible for the books while also executing day‑to‑day accounting functions, reporting directly to the owner. Strategic oversight and direct execution are both required.

This is a hardworking, focused, and highly specialized team. For the right candidate, this is a rare opportunity to work inside a professional race operation while supporting race car and off‑road vehicle sales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the complete financial lifecycle for the motorsports and distribution businesses, including transactional accounting, financial controls, and forward‑looking financial management.
  • Execute accounts payable, bill payment, and expense management with accuracy and timeliness
  • Manage accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, and transaction recording
  • Perform all bank and account reconciliations
  • Oversee cash management, daily cash positioning, and liquidity planning
  • Prepare and file 1099s and maintain vendor compliance
  • Maintain clean, current, and fully reconciled books at all times
  • Produce consolidated financial reporting across entities
  • Prepare monthly and year‑end financial statements
  • Design, implement, and maintain internal control procedures
  • Deliver controller‑level oversight and CFO‑level financial support
  • Develop budgets, cash‑flow analysis, forecasts, and financial models to support leadership decisions
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or controller roles
  • Automotive or powersports dealership accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Experience managing high‑volume AP and AR
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong command of accounting processes and financial controls
  • An expert at reconciling and managing multiple bank accounts and high‑dollar transactions
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, calm, and accountable
What Success Looks Like
  • Books are accurate, clean, and current at all times
  • Cash position is clearly known
  • AP is paid on time without exception
  • AR is actively managed and collected
  • Leadership has complete confidence in the numbers
  • No financial surprises
