Kindergarten Assistant – Live Oak Waldorf School

Live Oak Waldorf School is seeking a Kindergarten Assistant beginning immediately. The candidate will support the Kindergarten program under the direction of the primary teacher, assisting in creating a safe, nurturing environment for children in the Live Oak Waldorf School community.

Live Oak is a fully accredited Waldorf school on a forty‑acre campus serving 200 children from preschool through eighth grade. The school offers a comprehensive Waldorf curriculum that includes Spanish, handwork, woodwork, music, orchestra, Eurythmy, movement education, and a strong emphasis on community and outdoor life.

• Assist the lead teacher in classroom activities and lesson preparation.
• Supervise children during regular class hours and independent play.
• Prepare snacks, support housekeeping, and handwork duties.
• Participate in story time, circle time, singing, finger games, and movement activities.
• Help children clean and tidy the classroom.
• Provide child observation support.

The ideal candidate will have:

• At least 200 contact hours with Kindergarten‑aged children.
• Experience in a Waldorf early childhood classroom.
• At least one week of Waldorf early childhood coursework.

• A school year calendar designed for sustainable teaching and learning.
• Financial support for yearly renewal courses.

• Priority enrollment for children of hired faculty.

Pay rate is $21–23 per hour, based on experience.
