- Provide classroom instruction to students.
- Support classroom instruction based on TEKS.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to understand student needs, identify appropriate interventions, and modify curriculum for students as needed.
- Gather and analyze data to monitor student progress towards goals.
- Meet with parents, counselors, and agency representatives as needed.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and stay current with research and best practices to be implemented in the classroom.
- Establish and maintain rules, conduct, and discipline consistent with District policies and procedures in order to foster an environment that is conducive to learning.
- Follow District safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Tools/Equipment Used:
Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals.
Posture:
Frequent sitting and standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing, pulling, and twisting.
Motion:
Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
Lifting:
Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); occasional physical restraint of students to control behavior.
Environment:
May work prolonged or irregular hours; work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather), exposure to noise; occasional district wide and statewide travel.
Mental Demands:
Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.
