Optometrist

Vista Community Clinic is a private, non‑profit, multi‑specialty outpatient clinic providing high quality eye care in San Diego, Orange and Riverside counties. We are seeking a dedicated, motivated Optometrist to join our team.

• Direct and provide outpatient eye care to clinic patients, including examination, diagnosis, and treatment of visual disorders such as glaucoma, cataract, and diabetes.
• Participate in quality assurance, quality improvement, and utilization review programs.
• Examine eyes of patients of all ages to detect signs of injury, disease, or vision defects.
• Fit spectacles or contact lenses and read retinal scans.
• Write referral communications to doctors and prescribe medicines for eye conditions.
• Develop clinic protocols and procedures to ensure quality eye care and participate in utilization and peer review programs evaluating the quality of optometry services.

• Current California Optometric License
• State of California Certification for the treatment of ocular disease
• State of California Certification for the treatment of glaucoma
• A Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) Degree from an accredited optometry school
• Current CPR certification

• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Experience with Practice Management and Electronic Medical Records systems (Next Gen preferred)

• Experience with computers, Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel), business e‑mail communication systems, and internet search capabilities

• $71.00 – $74.00 per hour
