We are seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager to lead all estimating and preconstruction efforts for ground-up commercial construction projects in Southern California. This role is critical in setting projects up for success through accurate budgeting, strategic planning, and collaboration with internal and external teams.
Responsibilities- Lead all preconstruction activities including estimating, budgeting, and value engineering
- Prepare detailed cost estimates from conceptual through GMP levels
- Review drawings and specifications to identify risks, scope gaps, and cost-saving opportunities
- Manage subcontractor bidding, bid leveling, and buyout support
- Partner closely with ownership, architects, engineers, and operations teams
- Provide constructability reviews and schedule input during preconstruction
- Support smooth transition from preconstruction to field operations
- Track and maintain historical cost data and current market pricing
- 7+ years of preconstruction or estimating experience in commercial construction
- Strong ground-up construction background (commercial, mixed-use, industrial, or similar)
- Proven ability to lead estimates and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency with estimating software and preconstruction tools
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
- Base salary up to $180,000 (DOE)
