Visalia Transit is seeking a skilled Mechanic‑C to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience working with diesel engines, preferably in a transit or fleet environment. This role is essential to ensuring our buses and vehicles operate safely and efficiently for the community we serve.

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on diesel‑powered transit vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Conduct inspections and document findings in accordance with DOT and company standards.
• Collaborate with senior mechanics and supervisors to ensure timely repairs.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot issues.

• Minimum of 2 years of diesel mechanic experience.
• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Pay: 36.86 an hour
