Description
DEFINITION: Under general supervision, this technical level position provides procedural and paralegal review of family law and/or probate matters to ensure that all case files are complete, accurate, and in compliance with statutes and local rules.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
- General supervision given by Family Law Facilitator or higher-level manager.

- Legal Procedures
- Legal Research Techniques
- Court Policies
- Correct English usage including spelling and grammar
- Family law and probate code provisions

- Comprehend, follow and give instructions regarding complex issues
- Prioritize workload to meet departmental deadlines
- Perform a wide range of complex and varied tasks
- Relate information to diverse groups
- Work independently to complete tasks
- Make decisions regarding complex issues
- Interact with the public and/or co-workers in written and/or verbal form communicating complex information in a simple manner
- Operate a computer and other related office equipment

Education and Experience: The combination of education and experience listed as follows are the minimum qualifications:
- Education: Completion of an approved legal paraprofessional training program, with possession of a paralegal certificate preferred.
- Experience: At least three (3) years' experience researching and drafting a variety of legal documents, preferably supplemented by course work in legal office practices and business law, with one year of journey level experience as a paralegal preferred.

- Traverse to various court divisions
- Stand, bend, kneel, crouch, stoop, climb and reach while retrieving and/or stocking materials on shelves and cabinets
