Overview
The Compensation and Retirement Specialist is responsible for managing and administering compensation and the 403b and 401a retirement programs and the 457b deferred compensation program for Family Health Care Network.
Responsibilities- Carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: compensation and 403b, 457b, and 401a programs.
- Achieve department goals and metrics for functional areas assigned.
- Develop recommendations for updating workflows and policies.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in the functional area assigned.
- Perform high-level administrative functions to comply with regulations and department deadlines.
- Ensure the accuracy of all records and the integrity of employee data in the HRIS database.
- Conduct audits and analysis of ad-hoc reports.
- Support the overall FHCN employee compensation program.
- Manage the salary analyses and annual market analysis process and make recommendations to management.
- Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to ensure competitive pay rates, including performing salary surveys.
- Administer and evaluate annual salary increases, bonuses, and merit-based pay programs.
- Collaborate with HR and leadership teams to design and implement compensation strategies that align with company objectives and ensure fairness and equity.
- Monitor the effectiveness of compensation policies and practices, making recommendations for improvements.
- Responsible for retirement plan administration of 403b and 401a plans and the 457b deferred compensation plan for FHCN.
- Administer retirement and deferred compensation programs, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance to employees regarding retirement plan options, eligibility, and enrollment procedures.
- Perform audits of retirement plans to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Coordinate with external plan administrators, such as third-party recordkeepers or investment advisors.
- Manage the external audit of all retirement plans and implement changes as a result of audits.
- Oversee compliance and reporting for compensation and retirement programs.
- Ensure all compensation and retirement plans comply with federal and state regulations, including IRS, ERISA, and DOL requirements; handle inquiries from these entities.
- Prepare and submit regulatory filings, reports, and other required documentation related to compensation and retirement programs.
- Stay updated on changes in labor laws, tax laws, and benefit regulations to ensure compliance.
- Manage data analysis and reporting for compensation and retirement programs.
- Analyze compensation data to provide insights and support decision-making, including trend analysis, cost projections, and cost-benefit evaluations.
- Prepare reports for leadership, including compensation reviews, retirement plan performance, and overall program effectiveness.
- Utilize data tools to track and analyze compensation and retirement data.
- Possess advanced knowledge and skills including written and verbal communication, computational, computer and technical skills, and mathematical knowledge often resulting from a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field or comparable experience.
- Two years of progressive responsibility in functional areas of payroll, accounting, or human resources.
- Administrative knowledge of payroll or HR technologies, databases, and spreadsheets.
- Ability to create highly complex documents in Microsoft Word, including linking multiple files and embedding objects.
- Ability to use advanced functions of Microsoft Excel, such as creating and managing databases, standardizing reports, and linking multiple worksheets/workbooks.
- Ability to develop sophisticated presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint, including embedded objects and transitions.

- Ability to compile and analyze information in effective written form, including correspondence, reports, articles or other documentation.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to large groups.
