* * 6343 Administration-KHMHResponsible for 24/7 oversight and management of crisis intervention, assessment and referral services for persons with psychiatric disorders and their families. Also responsible for coordination and management of daily operations for mental health social work staff to facilitate a therapeutic treatment environment, cost-effective and timely discharge planning, and coordination of aftercare services with community partners and referral sources. Demonstrates high-level leadership accountability in assuring staff competency, financial responsibility, as well as enhancing Kaweah Health's mission and vision to achieve strategic priorities.
63 bed Mental Health Hospital. Patients are involuntary admits with chronic mental health concerns. Opening a new Youth Crisis Stabilization Unit with a census of 12.QUALIFICATIONS License /Certification

Required:

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT)
Heart Saver AEDKaweah Health approved crisis intervention training within 60 days of hire/transfer.
Experience

Required:

Three years of clinical experience as an LCSW/LMFT in a health care setting.
Preferred:
Supervisory experience    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities  Excellent written and oral communication skills.  Effective interpersonal skills, critical thinking and creative problem solving.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES  Essential    Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of:

Joint Commission standards

California Board of Behavioral Sciences professional practice statutes and regulations

Applicable federal and state guidelines and regulations, including HIPAACalifornia Mental Health Laws.

National Association of Social Workers Standards for Social Work Practice in Health Care Settings Code of Ethics of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW)
Advanced Social Work Practice Competencies in Mental Health Recovery Policies and procedures for areas supervised.
Leads quality of care and performance improvement activities in areas of supervision:

Organizes clinical care and service in areas supervised. Demonstrates and utilizes expert knowledge and skills in areas of practice; assists staff with clinical assessment and decision-making. Responds to unexpected staff shortages by maximizing available resources and assisting staff in prioritization of workflow. Understands principles of utilization and case management; ensures clinical care needs of those we serve are met in timely manner and that care is coordinated across the continuum of services and sites.

Coordinates and participates in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and discharge planning rounds. Demonstrates awareness of needs and preferences of medical staff and provides excellent customer service and/or service recovery, as needed. Monitors required documentation to ensure adequacy of clinical information and compliance with regulatory standards. Analyzes patient experience feedback, utilizing data to drive workflow and practice improvements. Assesses and documents competency of each staff member hired for areas supervised.

Collaborates with clinical educator and other organization resources on development and implementation of orientation plan for new staff. Performs staff evaluations, at least annually; completes performance appraisals within 14 days of due date. Identifies performance or education issues through observation, monitoring clinical outcomes and processes, and promptly communicates improvement opportunities / concerns to staff member(s). Utilizes research findings and best practice evidence in development of policies, procedures, and practice guidelines for areas supervised;
