Aboutthe Program
Kaweah Health Medical Center is a 435-bed teaching hospital serving as a de facto that has the volume and resources of a Level II trauma center, with 2,200 annual trauma activations and a thriving General Surgery Residency Program. The trauma and ACS teams work in close partnership with intensivists to deliver seamless, high-acuity care.
The RoleThe Trauma APP provides inpatient, consultative, and perioperative care as part of a collaborative trauma team that includes attending surgeons, residents, and intensivists.
Key Responsibilities- Provide daytime coverage for trauma and ACS services (10-hour shifts)
- Assist in surgical ward and ICU management
- Conduct ER consults, postoperative care, and discharge planning
- Teach and precept surgical residents
- Licensed PA-C, ACNP, or NP (surgical experience preferred)
- Strong interest in teaching and academic medicine
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
