Job Title
Dental Operations Supervisor
Job DescriptionThe Dental Operations Supervisor is responsible for direct supervision of dental support staff members and daily operations of the assigned dental clinic sites.
Responsibilities- Supervise departmental staff, including talent selection, performance management, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
- Build and maintain a successful team, ensure compliance with training plans, and provide on‑the‑job training and remediation.
- Manage day‑to‑day operations, monitor staff performance, schedule staff, and resolve issues to keep goals on track.
- Ensure staff adherence to company workflows and policies; correct non‑compliant behavior and report trends.
- Facilitate efficient patient flow by coordinating front and back‑office staff, operating dashboards and metric tools, maximizing appointment schedules, conducting audits, and maintaining clinical logs.
- Verify patient information, financial options, insurance eligibility, and enrollment procedures.
- Conduct inspections of work areas, sterilization and lab areas, ensuring compliance with OSHA, Joint Commission, accrediting bodies, regulatory agencies, and infection‑control guidelines.
- Maintain logs for equipment maintenance, expiration, inventory, and sterilization workflows.
- Address patient complaints, collaborate with the operations manager and other supervisors, and resolve patient issues.
- Coordinate patient facilitation with other sites when necessary and verify supplies, forms, and cash boxes comply with financial policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Advanced knowledge and skills in written and verbal communication, computational and computer systems, and mathematical knowledge, typically acquired through an Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Two years of leadership experience or five years of progressively greater responsibility and substantial project contributions demonstrating leadership skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, including tables, charts, graphs, and other complex document features.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data analysis (formulas, functions, lookup tables).
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint for sophisticated presentations (embedded objects, transitions).
Dental Assistant certificate and a valid California driver’s license.
Communications Skills- Effective verbal and written communication of information and analysis.
- Conflict resolution with employees, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Preparation of correspondence, reports, and other documents.
- Ability to convey technical information to non‑technical audiences.
Requires regular sitting and typing, frequent standing, walking, and occasional kneeling or squatting. May lift or move items up to 20 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made.
