Overview

Como Care is a behavioral health provider built to support community health centers and the people they serve. We deliver in-person intensive outpatient therapy (IOP) to communities that have historically been underserved in behavioral health care. Como partners with federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) to provide integrated behavioral health care where the patient receive whole-person care in one setting. Our team uses proven, evidence-based approaches to help individuals facing challenges such as substance use, mood disorders, and trauma — all in partnership with the trusted local health centers that know their patients best.

At Como, we’re driven by one goal: making high-quality behavioral health care accessible to everyone who needs it.

Role Description

As a Therapist at Como, you’ll play a central role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to patients participating in our IOP. You’ll lead group therapy sessions, build strong therapeutic relationships, and collaborate with our care team to ensure each patient’s treatment plan supports lasting improvement and recovery. As a Como therapist, you will support refining the clinical curriculum as the program evolves and expands.

Como Care Provider of California Professional Corporation (the “Professional Corporation”) seeks a licensed California clinician to provide high-quality clinical medical services to patients of the Professional Corporation. The Clinician will exercise independent medical judgment in all clinical matters and will practice in accordance with applicable federal and California laws, professional standards, and ethical obligations.

The Professional Corporation has engaged a management services organization (“MSO”) to provide the Professional Corporation with certain non-clinical administrative and management services. Nothing in this relationship alters or limits the Clinician’s independent clinical judgment or professional obligations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based individual and group therapy within Como’s intensive outpatient program (IOP) model
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care that meets each individual’s unique behavioral health needs
  • Support patients through the full course of care — from intake to completion — ensuring strong engagement and retention
  • Monitor progress, outcomes, and adherence to care plans while maintaining accurate clinical documentation
  • Collaborate with other members of the care team to coordinate holistic support for each patient
  • Contribute to the ongoing refinement of Como’s clinical curriculum and care delivery model based on real-world insights
  • Communicate and partner with the patient’s FQHC care team, including but not limited to the patient’s primary care provider and existing behavioral health provider, to ensure each patient receives the appropriate care and resources
  • Track and help drive key performance indicators (KPIs) including clinical quality, retention, completion, and patient satisfaction (NPS)
Professional & Compliance Responsibilities
  • Maintain an unrestricted California license and all required DEA registrations, certifications, and any applicable hospital privileges.
  • Comply with Professional Corporation policies related to patient care, documentation, confidentiality, HIPAA, and professional conduct.
  • Adhere to ethical standards established by applicable medical boards and professional organizations.
Scope of Authority
  • The Clinician shall have sole authority and responsibility over all his/her clinical decisions and patient care matters
  • The Clinician shall not be subject to control or direction by the MSO with respect to the practice of medicine, clinical judgment, or professional decision-making
  • The Clinician shall not engage in any activity that would cause the Professional Corporation or MSO to violate California’s corporate practice of medicine restrictions.
