Responsibilities
  • Assist in advancing clients’ decision‑making, productivity and participation in a range of daily activities. Facilitate the client’s inclusion in positive community experiences. Promote independence in daily activities while being mindful of clients’ intellectual and physical disabilities and assist with meals, cooking, household maintenance, grooming and dressing, as assigned. Maintain current knowledge of clients’ needs.
  • Implement individual training and support programs under the direction of the case responsible person. Maintain positive communications and relationships with supervisor, clients, landlords, employers, involved family members, Regional Center, D.O.R. and other community members. Participate in the evaluation of the client through completion of task analysis and other requested assessment devices.
  • Provide positive advocacy when an individual’s preferences, needs or talents are neglected or overlooked. Address challenging behaviors proactively and respectfully, using methods outlined in plans and training. Oversee client activities and environment throughout shift to ensure the fulfillment of health and safety needs. Provide direct service as needed.
  • Transport clients to appointments, community activities or other locations as needed, ensuring safety and timeliness during travel.
Requirements
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Aptitude for confidentiality, organizational skills and good interpersonal skills.
  • Certification in an approved First‑Aid and CPR class; or successful completion within 45 days of hire.
  • Insured, registered vehicle in safe working condition and proof of current CA driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel within and throughout the counties in which services are provided a minimum of 75% of the time.
  • Mobile: ability to use a mobile smart device (cell phone/tablet) with reliable internet connectivity for case‑management platform tasks. Reasonable reimbursement is provided.
  • Schedule:

    work as scheduled by the Regional Manager or designee. Part‑time or full‑time based on client needs. Overtime may be required; no holiday or overtime without supervisor approval.
  • Successful completion of pre‑employment drug screen and background check. Physical evaluations may be required (TB test, lift and transfer test). Acceptable DMV record.
