Position Summary: Promote independence in daily activities while respecting each client’s intellectual and physical disabilities. Assist with meals, cooking, household maintenance, grooming and dressing as assigned. Maintain current knowledge of client needs.
Responsibilities- Facilitate client’s inclusion in positive community experiences; transport clients to appointments, activities, or other locations as needed, ensuring safety and timeliness.
- Advance client’s decision‑making, productivity, and participation in a range of daily activities; perform all other assigned duties.
- Maintain current knowledge of client needs; maintain positive communication and relationships with supervisors, clients, landlords, employers, families, the Regional Center, D.O.R., and other community members.
- Work per scheduled shift; overtime may be required but no holiday or overtime may be worked without prior approval of supervisor.
- Implement individual training and support programs under the direction of the case manager.
- Document required activity records, reports, incidents, and client evaluations accurately and timely.
- Address challenging behaviors proactively and respectfully using methods outlined in individualized plans.
- Oversee client activities and environment to ensure health and safety; provide direct service as required.
- Complete pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
- Maintain schedule that may be part‑time or full‑time based on client or organizational needs.
- Participate in evaluation of client through task analysis and other assessment tools.
- Undergo physical evaluations as required (e.g., TB test, lift and transfer test).
- Insured, registered vehicle in safe working condition; proof of current California driver’s license.
- Certification in First‑Aid and CPR; complete within 45 days of hire.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Minimum age 18 years.
- Strong confidentiality, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Mobile smart device available for essential functions; reasonable reimbursement provided.
