Sequoias Community College District is seeking a qualified and equity-minded candidate to fill a full-time, tenure-track position in the Biology Department beginning August 2026. Assignments may include evening classes and teaching at any of the Sequoias Community College District Campuses:
Visalia, Hanford and/or Tulare. Participation in the governance of the Sequoias Community College District by way of committee assignments is encouraged.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Frontiers in Biology with lab and Plant Biology with lab, both of which are intended for non-science majors. Possible additional offerings depend on the expertise and preference of the successful candidate and could include other biology classes as determined by the college. Other responsibilities include maintenance of office hours, active engagement with campus culture, participation in departmental responsibilities, and the willingness to create and participate in and sustain an atmosphere of equity, which is respectful of diversity district-wide.
QualificationsThe candidate must meet the following criteria.
- Master's in any biological science OR
- Bachelor's in biological science AND
- Master's in biochemistry, biophysics, marine science, bioengineering, agricultural biology, or biomedical sciences OR
- The equivalent.

The candidate must also demonstrate sensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students pursuant to Title 5

- Teaching experience in General Biology and Plant Biology/Botany for majors or non-majors.
- Experience in designing and implementing biology lab experiences in a college classroom setting.
