Pluck’d is seeking a Logistics & Shipping Coordinator to ensure customer orders are scheduled, loaded, and shipped accurately and on time from our greenhouse packhouse. This role is responsible for booking freight, securing transportation lanes, coordinating with trucking companies and brokers, preparing shipping documentation, and being physically present for outbound pickups. As the first hire dedicated to this function, the Logistics & Shipping Coordinator will play a key role in building structured processes that support reliable, scalable outbound distribution as production expands.
This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position with a starting rate of $25.00 per hour
, plus overtime as applicable.
- Book and confirm outbound freight with carriers and brokers.
- Secure and manage shipping lanes based on customer delivery windows.
- Communicate directly with trucking partners regarding pickup timing and load status.
- Monitor on-time performance and proactively resolve delays or missed pickups.
- Support freight cost tracking and invoice verification.
- Confirm daily order volumes and shipment details with internal teams.
- Prepare and verify bills of lading (BOLs) and required shipping documentation.
- Ensure loads are staged and ready for pickup in alignment with scheduled departure times.
- Verify pallet counts, labeling, and retailer routing compliance prior to release.
- Confirm load departure and communicate shipment status internally.
- Be physically present for early morning, late evening, or overnight pickups as required.
- Coordinate directly with drivers at time of pickup to ensure accurate and timely dispatch.
- Escalate issues immediately to prevent service disruption.
- Work closely with the Packhouse Supervisor to align packout timing with shipment schedules.
- Adjust freight scheduling if order volumes or packout timing shifts.
- Contribute to development of standardized outbound logistics procedures as operations scale.
Due to the time-sensitive nature of fresh produce distribution, this role requires flexibility to support early morning, late evening, overnight, and non-traditional shifts based on shipment schedules and customer requirements. Work hours may fluctuate depending on production volume and delivery timing. Overtime may be required during peak harvest periods.
Qualifications- 2+ years of experience in freight coordination, produce shipping, warehouse dispatch, or logistics operations preferred.
- Experience working with trucking companies, brokers, and retailer routing requirements.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time-sensitive deadlines.
- Proficiency in Excel and shipping documentation systems; experience with Net Suite referred.
- Ability to work on-site and support non-traditional hours as required.
- Forklift certification or experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or packhouse environment.
- Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) or prior experience operating commercial vehicles.
