• Must hold valid CDL license to drive a school bus with airbrake certification
• Must be twenty-one years of age
• Physically able to operate a school bus safely
• Able to read and write

• Drive the bus where directed by the Director of Operations
• Obey all traffic laws
• Keep to assigned bus schedule
• Transport only school pupils, school personnel and approved persons
• Use the bus only for approved official business
• Keep bus clean
• Observe all mandatory safety regulations for school buses
• Perform the duties in a business-like manner and report immediately to the Director of Operations any unsafe conditions related to the bus, the pupils, the roads or other users of the highway
• Perform and record a daily pre-trip inspection immediately prior to transporting students
• Notify the bus shop of mechanical failure
• Discharge students only at authorized stops
• Report all accidents to the Director of Operations
• Exercise responsible leadership and courtesy when on out-of-district and/or special trips
• Maintain discipline on school bus and report undisciplined students to the principal
• Perform duties regularly except in emergencies or sickness
• Stop the school bus, look and listen at all rail crossings
• Attend bus meeting as scheduled by the Director of Operations
• Perform responsibilities in accordance with school board policies and regulations
• Other related duties as assigned by the Director of Operations
