Job Title: Assistant Pool Manager
Location: Lake Monticello Pool – Palmyra, VA
Position Type: Seasonal (Late Spring–Summer)
Reports To: Pool Manager

Position Summary Lake Monticello is seeking a dependable and motivated Assistant Pool Manager to help oversee daily operations at the Lake Monticello Pool. This role supports the Pool Manager in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-run aquatic facility for residents and guests.

• Assist with daily pool operations, including opening and closing procedures
• Support supervision, scheduling, and oversight of lifeguards and pool staff
• Help enforce pool rules, safety protocols, and emergency procedures
• Respond to member questions and concerns in a professional, customer-focused manner
• Assist with staff training, onboarding, and performance feedback
• Monitor pool conditions, cleanliness, and equipment; report maintenance issues
• Step in as acting manager when the Pool Manager is unavailable

• Minimum age: 18 years old
• Current lifeguard certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification required (or willingness to obtain)
• Prior pool, recreation, or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to remain calm and decisive in emergency situations
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work outdoors in summer weather conditions
