Overview
The Assistant Coach assists with all aspects of the operations of the assigned sport, and is additionally responsible for promoting an atmosphere of compliance within the program with all applicable policies and procedures.
Responsibilities- Promote an atmosphere of compliance and ensure compliance with all applicable policies and procedures.
- Recruit quality student-athletes in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Counsel and assist student-athletes in completing their academic degree; monitor academic progress of student-athletes.
- Ensure the health and safety of student-athletes.
- Assist in the planning and conduction of practice sessions to develop player skills and teach strategies of the game in preparation to compete against other university/college intercollegiate teams.
- Assist in the completion of the required compliance-related forms in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Adhere to college and university guidelines for individual, staff and team travel.
- Represent people leaders (hire/fire authority) with majority of time spent overseeing their area of responsibility. Achieve goals through direct and/or indirect reports.
- Manage a specific positional area or group of student-athletes. Be accountable for the performance and direction-setting of the positional area. Develop solutions to complex, cross-functional problems that require extensive experience-based subject matter knowledge, especially in collaboration with other position leaders. Influence others to accept practices and strategies.
