System Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain subsystems, mappings from EDI messages to Java objects
• Design solutions using components of Web Sphere Data Stage (Acential/Mercator)
• Contribute to developing reusable patterns in mappings
• Work with subject‑matter experts and developers from other subsystems to develop and maintain code that is part of a large‑scale system
• Create or use design specifications and deliver code written in Web Sphere Data Stage
• Conduct unit testing and participate in software integration testing
• Participate in design sessions with other teams and track/report progress on tasks and assignments
• Operate in an environment with CM‑controlled multiple baselines
• Analyze requirements and map them to technical solutions
• Use primary tools such as Web Sphere Data Stage, WBIMB, DB2, and Java

• Minimum 6 years of relevant professional experience, preferably on a large‑scale program
• Strong applied knowledge of enterprise application integration using J2EE tools (Web Sphere Application Server preferred)
• Good writing and communication skills
• Some experience working with RDBMS is desired
• Design experience using UML is desired
• At least 3 years of Web Sphere Message Broker (WMB) experience; deep knowledge of WMB, message‑flow development with WMB V5 or higher, integration of Java into WMB, and integration of DB2 into WMB message flows
• Web Sphere Data Stage Transformation Extender (DTX) experience preferred (minimum 3 years); type‑tree modeling and map development
• Java experience required: minimum 3 years of design, development, and unit testing of Java software components
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field;
  Java certification is a plus
