Job Title
Reader/Driver/Clerk (OPS) – Division of Blind Services, District 3 Office – Gainesville, Florida.
Job SummaryThis part‑time position (20–40 hours per week) supports a Counselor or other staff member with visual impairments by providing reading and transportation services to facilitate the completion of essential job tasks outside the office environment. The role assists the employee in meeting responsibilities that require community outreach and client‑related meetings.
Responsibilities- Acts as a reader for the Counselor.
- Provides transportation for the Counselor or other staff member to: community outreach, informational sessions, client‑related meetings.
- Operates the state vehicle and follows all guidelines for vehicle use.
- Maintains confidentiality standards required by all State Employees.
- Possesses and maintains a valid Florida Driver's License and a clear driving record.
- Inputs work hours into People First System.
- Completes vehicle logs timely and accurately.
- May perform light office duties when needed.
- Ability to find and identify essential information.
- Ability to speak and communicate clearly.
- Ability to listen and interpret what others say, and ask questions as appropriate.
- Ability to use mathematics as needed to solve problems.
- Knowledge of administrative/clerical procedures and systems.
- Knowledge of basic computer software programs and applications.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to maintain a clear driving history and a valid Florida Driver's License.

- Work experience chauffeuring or providing driving services (Limousine, Taxi, Uber, Lyft).
