Location: Bedford
Overview
HVAC III performs as part of a multi-craft team providing HVAC related activities consisting of repairs, troubleshooting, installation, preventive maintenance, and testing of equipment, buildings, and utility systems. A probationary period of 90 days (about 3 months) will be given for the organization to determine their ability, skill set, and ensure they uphold the values of the department and the organization.
HVAC III would be responsible for adequate documentation, quality control, rounding, and other duties as assigned.
- Assists the HVAC Supervisor with planning and execution of construction, renovation, and capital projects.
- Assists in the development of projected costs for components, materials, tools or equipment for HVAC related projects & repairs.
- Helps to mentor and provide direction to Centra HVAC I & II caregivers.
- Assists with coordination and execution of controls & BAS related work by outside vendors.
- Provides oversight of assigned jobs & projects to help ensure scheduled work is completed in a timely manner.
- Assists in maintaining a proper inventory of parts & supplies routinely needed for PM & CM activities.
- Assists in ensuring compliance with safety procedures and use of PPE by HVAC I & II caregivers.
- Works alongside other HVAC technicians (internal or external) to ensure jobs & projects are completed to Centra’s quality standards, in conformance to applicable drawings or schematics, and to code requirements.
- Demonstrates proper care of Centra owned tools, equipment, vehicles & other property.
- Ability to understand and critique vendor test reports per current code requirements including TJC, NFPA, VA Mechanical Code, ASHRAE 170, and authorities having jurisdiction.
- Assists with the coordination and execution of routine ACH & TAB testing whether by use of internal or external resources.
- Assists with the coordination and execution of utility system shutdowns during planned or emergency situations.
- Assists the Facilities Management department as member of a snow removal team.
- Assists the Facilities Management department as member of the fire response team.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
- Current Virginia DPOR Master HVAC License
- 4-years of pervious & verifiable HVAC trade related experience
- Knowledge of hand and power tools and repair techniques
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to function as part of a team
- Ability to read technical documents and follow verbal instructions
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Valid Virginia driver’s license
