Pipe Layer

• The Utility division installs pipes for storm for sanitary sewer, storm drains, and water mains. The Pipe Layer is responsible for preparing and installing the various underground pipes.
• Check grade.
• Set up laser for pipe alignment.
• Cut pipes to required lengths.
• Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers.
• Lay out pipe routes, follow specifications or blueprints, and coordinate layouts with a supervisor.
• Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing.
• Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement, or glue.
• Tap and drill holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devices.
• Cover pipes with earth or other materials.
• Grade and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand tools.
• Promote and adhere to the company’s safety program.

• At least 18 years of age.
• A MINIMUM of 3+ years of experience is required.
• GED or high school diploma preferred.
