Skilled Laborer

Overview

We are searching for a dependable Skilled Laborer to join our excellent construction crew. The Skilled Laborer s responsibilities include ensuring worksites are clean and safe, spreading gravel, using drills, jackhammers, and other power tools, and providing assistance with heavy machinery. You should also be able to take instruction from superiors and complete on-the-job training.

To be successful as a Skilled Laborer, you will have acquired suitable skills, have a good work ethic and willing to learn and improve. An outstanding Skilled Laborer should be hungry to expand their skill set and increase their level of expertise. You should also be willing to learn from other crew members and receive off-site training wherever possible.

• Follow all OSHA and HBCI safety rules, regulations and standards in hazardous construction and traffic environments.
• Digging, spreading and shoving dirt and gravel using pick, shovel or other hand tools.
• Lifts, carries and holds building materials, tool and supplies.
• Cleans tools, materials and work areas.
• Pours and spreads topsoil, asphalt, gravel, and other material using hand tools.
• Performs a wide variety of manual tasks including pipe assembly, pipe cutting and laying, taking layout shots, directing equipment operators on cuts and fills, etc.
• Must be physically capable of navigating rugged terrain for purpose of performing duties.
• Direct traffic and carry out other traffic management activities.
• Must work in all weather conditions, be prepared for both extreme heat and cold.
• Must be able to work independently and maintain a schedule of work.
• Exceptional attendance record.
• Must be available to work overtime.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Must pass a drug screen and background check.
• Some experience preferred but willing to train.
• Valid Driver’s License with good driving record required.
• Reliable transportation required.
