Role and Responsibilities- Maintenance and repairs to YFT homes, offices, buildings, satellite offices, and grounds.
- Respond to and complete work orders within 24 hours, unless the work order requires parts or hired contractors.
- Prepare and assist with construction projects, event set‑up, take‑down, and fundraising events.
- Ensure YFT grounds are maintained, including mowing, shoveling, pulling weeds, and plowing snow.
- Provide on‑call services for urgent maintenance requests, including evenings and weekends.
- Assist with deliveries, inventory monitoring, furniture assembly, and donation pick‑ups.
- Perform weekly inspections of YFT resident homes and complete necessary maintenance.
- Minimum of a high school diploma.
- Positive attitude.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Highly self‑motivated with strong work ethics.
- Knowledge and understanding of basic power tools and maintenance of residential and commercial structures.
- Motor skills strong enough to climb ladders, squat, use both arms and legs, and bend.
- Ability to lift 70 lbs or more.
- Problem‑solving abilities.
- Common understanding of furniture assembly.
- Appliance repairs a plus, can train.
- Considerable knowledge and common sense regarding OSHA safety.
- Ability to prioritize work orders and ongoing projects.
- Experience in drywall replacement/patching, minor electrical and plumbing work, and use of power tools, lawn mowers, and snow removal.
- Minimum 40 hours per week; some emergency call‑ins may be required.
- Commercial and residential maintenance.
- Carpentry, drywall, light fixture replacement, and other general home repairs.
- Plumbing and water heater replacement.
- Remodeling work and appliance repair knowledge.
- Landscaping and mowing on commercial equipment.
- OSHA 10/30 training.
- Forklift certification.
Candidate must be able to pass FBI fingerprinting background check to work in a Children’s Residential Facility, health screening for TB, and immunization records.
