The Commercial Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain property according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives. This position supports the full portfolio for Van Metre Commercial, primarily servicing the Ashburn, VA and Aldie, VA areas.

• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Plan and undertake scheduled maintenance at multiple properties throughout the portfolio.
• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain property machines and equipment, including checking, repairing, and servicing machinery, equipment, systems, and infrastructure; diagnosing problems; replacing or repairing parts; testing; and making adjustments.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities. Ensure the efficiency and reliability of mechanical equipment.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
• Perform HVAC maintenance, including preventive maintenance, filter change-outs, and compressor/motor replacements.
• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Participate in on call responsibilities one weekend per month.
  • While on call, this position will service all of our properties ranging between Winchester, VA and Arlington, VA.
• Assist with snow removal.

• 4-8+ years of experience in Commercial Maintenance Required
• CFC Certification Required
• Provide own basic tools and be knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of tools
• Valid Driver's License

Must be able to lift and move objects up to 75 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times.

• Salary: $28.85 - $31.26 per hour (Pay is commensurate with experience, education, training, and skills)
• Bonus potential: 10% of annual salary, paid in quarterly installments as merited
