Position: Roofer Helper/Laborer (2 positions open Ashland VA)
Location: Richmond

Roofer Helper / Laborer - 2 Open Positions (Ashland, VA)

Roofing Helper / Laborer Responsibilities:

* Unloading materials from truck and unrolling roofing material

* Ensuring there is enough material for entire roof or repair project

* Lifting roofing materials onto roof

* Clearing debris from roof

* Scraping or pulling off old roofing marterial

* Assist in installing paper and shingles to make repair to shingle roofs

* Assist in applying layer of tar on roof

* Assist in cleaning membrane to prepare for roof repairs

* Clearing out gutters and drains

* Assist in affixing metal sheets to roof boards or frameworks

* Assisting in locating and fixing leaks

* Repairing damage caused from storms and high winds

* Performing other related duties as assigned

Roofing Helper / Laborer

Qualifications:

* Driver's license preferred but not a must

* Must have reliable transportation to and from office

* CANNOT be afraid of heights

* Must be comfortable working on the roof of multistory buildings

* Ability to follow and apply direction from the lead roofer

* Must be able to perform other duties as assigned by lead roofer

* Must be able to pass a background check - checks are performed on all employess

* Must be able to climb ladders

* Must be able to lift 80 lbs.

* Must be able to use roofing tools and repair materials

* Must be able to work outside on roofs for extended periods and in all weather conditions
