Job Summary
The Group Sales Manager is a senior-level revenue driver responsible for aggressive prospecting, new client development, and large-scale group acquisition. This role is outward-facing and focused on expanding Massanutten’s group profile regionally and nationally.
This individual builds a pipeline, secures multi-year contracts, and drives group revenue growth to support Waterpark Hotel expansion and long-term lodging performance.
Primary Objectives- Generate measurable net-new group revenue
- Expand geographic and segment penetration
- Secure multi-year and high-value contracts
- Increase group room nights, group Rev Por & Trev Por
- Develop third-party sourcing firm relationships
- Develop and maintain active prospect list
- Identify new vertical markets
- Build relationships with:
- Meeting planners
- Youth sports organizations
- Associations
- Corporate accounts
- Faith-based organizations
- DMO partners
- Conduct site visits and property tours
- Secure new and recurring group business contracts
- Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly targets
- Secure new business contracts
- Expand existing accounts
- Negotiate pricing and multi-year agreements
- Maintain CRM hygiene
Provide weekly prospecting and pipeline updates - Monitor conversion metrics
- Attend industry events
- Travel for business development
- Represent Massanutten externally
- Net new revenue generated
- Group room nights growth
- Group Rev Por and Trev Por growth
- Site visits booked
- Valid driver’s license and approved driving record
- Availability to travel within and out of the state, staying overnight on occasions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service and negotiation skills
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to work independently and as a team in a fast‑paced environment
- 7-10 years of experience in Sales
- 7-10 years of experience in Hospitality
Monday–Friday, weekends and holidays as needed
