Overview
Customer Service/Sales associates provide fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance. These associates learn about products using our tools, and provide information to customers in order to sell an entire project. Associates in this position will learn how to greet, qualify, recommend and close every customer in their department, and know how to handle basics in adjacent departments.
This role requires maintaining in-stock conditions, ensuring areas are clean, shop-able, and safe, and contributing to a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and training.

- Provide fast, friendly service and actively assist customers.
- Learn product information using available tools and resources.
- Greet, qualify, recommend, and close sales with customers in your department and assist with basics in adjacent departments.
- Maintain in-stock conditions of assigned areas; keep areas clean, shop-able, and safe.
- Follow safety policies and complete required safety training; identify and report hazards to management.
- Collaborate with Department Supervisors and other associates to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Work across relevant store departments (e.g., Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, Tool Rental) as needed.
- Strong customer service and sales-oriented mindset.
- Ability to learn product information and explain it clearly to customers.
- Willingness to work across departments and handle basic responsibilities in adjacent areas.
- Commitment to safety policies and maintaining a safe shopping environment.
