Associate Veterinarian – Join JAS Recruitment as a full‑time veterinarian responsible for providing medical care for animals, diagnosing & treating illnesses, consulting with clients, maintaining patient records, and performing surgeries and related procedures as needed. A DVM and an active state license are required.
Scope- Determines nature of disease or injury by examining pets; examining small animals.
- Restores health by treating animals surgically or medically.
- Prevents rabies, brucellosis, and other disorders by testing animals; providing inoculations.
- Promotes health of animals by advising owners about sanitation measures, feeding, and general care.
- Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and animal records; reporting diseases to public health officials.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Enhances veterinary clinic reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Skills/
Qualifications:
Knowledge of Animal Behavior, Basic Safety, Documentation Skills, Customer Service, Performing Diagnostic Procedures, Use of Medical Technologies, Job Knowledge, Judgment, Integrity, Verbal Communication.
- Educational Background: A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution is required.
- State Veterinary Board License must be in good standing for the state in which they intend to be hired, prior to their start date.
- Flexible work schedule, with availability to work some weekends and holidays.
- Experienced in mass removal surgeries, including lipomas, cysts, and suspected neoplasms, with appropriate margin control and histopathology follow‑up.
- Skilled in pre‑operative planning, anesthetic protocol selection, and multimodal pain management tailored to individual patient needs.
