Bon Secours Commonwealth Internal Medicine in Richmond, Virginia, is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (FNP or AGPCNP) to join our growing primary care team. We care for adult patients (18+), providing comprehensive, patient-focused internal medicine services in a supportive and collegial environment.

Our practice is committed to teamwork, compassion, and building a work “family” where every provider and staff member supports one another to deliver exceptional care.

Position Highlights

• Patient Population: Adults, 18+
• Average Patients/Day: 20
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–5:00 PM
• Call Schedule: Every 4th week
• After-hours call: 5:00 PM–7:30 AM (Mon–Fri), 24-hour call Saturday & Sunday
• Call is shared and manageable, focusing on patient needs only
• Virtual Health: Optional as needed based on patient demand

A Typical Day

• Mix of annual exams, follow-ups, and acute visits (in-person and virtual)
• First patients begin at 7:30 AM (often virtual), in-person visits start at 8:00 AM
• Last patient scheduled at 4:30 PM
• Dedicated admin time for refills, patient messages, and charting
• Supported by 3 CMAs and 1 LPN
• Collaborative care alongside 2 physicians and 1 advanced practice clinician

Qualifications

• Education: Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing (FNP/AGPCNP) or Physician Assistant Studies
• Licensure: Active Virginia license (or eligibility)
• Certifications: Current BLS and ACLS required
• Experience: New graduates welcome; experienced providers encouraged to apply
