- Monitor the delivery of nursing care to ensure it meets standards of quality, safety, and resident dignity.
- Conduct rounds to assess resident conditions and address concerns promptly.
- Coordinate and supervise implementation of resident care plans.
- Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate appropriate care and documentation.
- Supervise and support nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs) during assigned shifts.
- Provide guidance, direction, and clinical support as needed.
- Participate in staff evaluations, corrective actions, and ongoing development.
- Ensure proper shift hand-offs, documentation, and communication between teams.
- Ensure all care practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHRs).
- Assist in preparing for inspections, audits, and surveys.
- Monitor medication administration and ensure adherence to physician orders.
- Assist with or perform complex treatments as needed.
- Investigate and report medication errors or adverse events per policy.
- Act as liaison between staff, residents, families, physicians, and external providers.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate holistic care.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN)/Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Virginia
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
- Minimum 2–3 years of nursing experience in long‑term care or geriatric setting
- Supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred
- Current CPR/BLS Certification
- Knowledge of nursing home regulations, infection control, and care planning
- Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills
- Moderate physical activity: push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to at least 3 feet and for at least 50 feet.
- Standing/walking more than 4 hours per day.
- Bending/stooping more than 1 hour at a time.
- Sitting more than 1 hour at a time.
- Writing or computer work with repetitive typing and concentrating on screen for more than 1 hour at a time.
