The Person al Trainer sets goals, develops personalized exercise programs, provides training for safe use of equipment, and assists members during exercise workouts to promote a lifelong health and fitness program. This position reports to the Spa & Fitness Director.

• Model and maintain Blue Star standards; adhere to Blue Star Resort & Golf and facility policies.
• Monitor facility for member and guest safety, ensuring a secure environment.
• Meet with members to discuss lifestyle management, fitness goals, and design personalized exercise routines.
• Maintain a professional trainer‑client relationship, ensuring confidentiality and applying universal precautions.
• Create safe, effective, and engaging customized exercise programs tailored to client needs and limitations.
• Engage clients during sessions, fostering confidence and independence.
• Provide training for safe equipment use and report incidents to the Spa & Fitness Director.
• Document client cards, fitness program suggestions, and workout notes.
• Adhere to scheduled sessions; clean and disinfect equipment to maintain a sanitized environment.
• Build a client base by establishing sales goals for Personal Training packages; collaborate with the Director on sales strategy.
• Participate in facility calendar events, activities, and seminars as directed.
• Promote a total facility experience by suggesting programs and activities that inspire members.
• Know all spa services and suggest beneficial treatments to complement fitness routines.
• Assist staff with lifting and storing facility equipment and products for special events.
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of previous customer service and personal trainer experience preferred.
• Certified Personal Trainer from a nationally recognized agency (ACE, AFFA, ASCM, NSCA, NSPA).
• Current First Aid, CPR/AED certification, and other safety certifications as required.
• Computer literate.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to motivate clients.
• Able to demonstrate equipment use and lead a class; able to lift 45‑pound weight plates.
• Professional manner, discretion, and appearance; maintain current knowledge of exercise trends.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
