Job Title: Forklift Operator
Location: Henrico, VA 23231
Compensation: $16/hour
Schedule: Full‑time (including possible evenings, weekends, or flexible scheduling)
Position will START supporting REWORK Projects:
Monday - Friday, 6:00am-4:00pm.
Onsite interview REQUIRED. SUMMARY:
The Forklift Operator is a pivotal full‑time position responsible for safely and efficiently transporting materials across the facility using powered industrial trucks. This role requires attention to detail, equipment knowledge, and steady teamwork to support consistent production flow.
- Operate forklifts and other material‑handling equipment to move goods, stack inventory, and load/unload trucks safely.
- Inspect and perform routine maintenance on powered equipment, reporting any safety hazards or malfunctions immediately.
- Load, unload, and secure items onto trailers, pallets, or designated storage areas.
- Utilize RF scanners or manual logging to track inventory movement and maintain accurate records.
- Rotate stock and manage storage to support inventory control and minimize spoilage or damage.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, work rules, and operational procedures at all times.
- Maintain a tidy and efficient workspace, performing general housekeeping duties.
- Set up and calibrate machinery and storage systems for efficient loading operations.
- Communicate closely with leadership and dispatch teams to coordinate logistics flow.
- Assist in inventory counts and cycle checks as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement suggestions or team safety meetings.
- Execute other cross‑functional duties as assigned.
- Valid Forklift Operator Certification (OSHA or equivalent), with re‑certification every three years.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Proven ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing for long periods.
- Strong spatial awareness, hand‑eye coordination, and attention to detail.
- Must demonstrate ability to follow safety protocols, company guidelines, and attention to detail in high‑paced environments.
- Comfortable using RF scanners or other warehouse tech (if applicable).
- Prior warehouse or manufacturing experience, especially in a high‑volume setting.
- Valid driver’s license or other safety/OSHA training credentials.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts (evenings, weekends, or holidays) as needed.
- Fast‑paced warehouse or production facility with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and potential temperature variations.
- PPE required at all times—safety‑toed shoes, high‑visibility gear, etc.
- Physical demands include standing, bending, climbing, and lifting during shift hours.
