Pay Range: $22 to $24 per hour plus biweekly install bonuses, benefits, and advancement opportunities.

Position Summary

The Installer II is responsible for assembling, installing, and/or maintaining solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on varying surfaces—including rooftop, ground mount, and specific structural installations. Daily activities include measuring, cutting, drilling, working at height, performing minor electrical work, assisting with structural upgrades, using hand and power tools, reading plan sets, following directions, and adhering to safe work practices and senior crew guidance.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Loading and unloading the company vehicle with project materials
  • Transporting materials to and from the roof or structure being installed on
  • Assembling all roof components efficiently and safely
  • Performing electrical work as instructed by the crew lead, both independently and under direct supervision
  • Installing projects in accordance with Freedom Forever plan sets
  • Flashing penetrations as needed to ensure project quality
  • Providing onsite guidance and recommendations to Installer I’s
  • Ensuring all work complies strictly with Freedom Forever policies and applicable codes (e.g., NFPA‑70, IRC, IFC, CA‑T24)
  • Strictly following all Freedom Forever safety regulations and policies
  • Following direction from senior crew members
  • Providing recommendations for efficiency and compliance gains
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Communicating directly with end users, if required
  • Traveling domestically, if required
  • Driving a Freedom Forever vehicle, if required
  • Performing other duties as assigned
Qualification Requirements

Education & Certifications

  • High School Graduate or GED

Experience

  • 6 months to 1 year of PV installation experience (preferred)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Fundamental understanding of all PV products installed by Freedom Forever
  • Basic understanding of building standards and applicable codes
  • Ability to communicate professionally and concisely
  • Competent installation of conduits (EMT, RMC, IMC, LFMC, FMC)
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Special Skills & Training

  • Completion of all assigned Freedom Forever training modules and documentation by the designated due date
  • Optional training (Freedom Forever and external) may be completed at the employee’s discretion outside of business hours
