The City of Radford has two openings for a Laborer II in the Public Works Department. The successful candidate will perform various unskilled and semi-skilled manual labor tasks, assisting with public works, water lines, solid waste, and related operations.

• Ability to understand and follow oral instructions.
• Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse weather conditions.
• High school diploma or equivalent plus some experience in heavy manual work.
• Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.
• Valid commercial driver’s license in Virginia.

The hourly rate is $16.10. The City offers a comprehensive benefits package, including enrollment in the Virginia Retirement System (VRS), health, dental, vision, and life insurance. Successful candidates must pass pre-employment testing and background screening.
