Organization Albemarle Housing Improvement Program (AHIP)

AHIP is looking for a dependable and experienced remodeling carpenter to work full time for our company. This is NOT a helper position; candidates should have construction experience for residential remodeling and renovation jobs in all areas of interior and exterior remodeling work. Candidates will work individually and as part of a crew and be responsible for the efficient implementation of construction tasks assigned by the Construction Manager.

General knowledge of all phases of renovation and remodeling, including roofing repair, is required. Light plumbing and electrical experience are a plus. Candidates must possess a valid Virginia driver’s license. This position is forty hours per week, no weekends required, competitive pay, health and dental insurance, 12 paid holidays off a year including your birthday. • Framing, drywall hanging, and finishing
• Flooring
• Kitchen and bathroom remodeling
• Installing doors, trim, windows, and baseboard
• Deck and accessibility ramp construction and repair
• Light plumbing (toilet, sink, and faucet installations)
• Light electrical (replacing fixtures, switches, outlets)

• 3+ years of remodeling experience
• Ability to work dependably without direct supervision
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to show up consistently and communicate with others
• Prolonged periods standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
• Must be able to safely work with sharp tools or power equipment
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains
• Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination
